The one object that we allow to invade your deepest personal space and expose ourselves to being unprotected and susceptible.
We willingly press it to our faces and allow it to cradle our heads with complete trust it is on our side.
We surrender our minds, our emotions and bodies to it …never questioning if it will keep our secrets and our heads and necks safe until we resurface again in the morning.
It is how we depart from and return to our waking hours.
Your Pillow ... Yours
We are reluctant to share ours and hesitant to share another’s. It is as personal an object as one can possess and we spend a helpless third of our lives surrendered and buried into it. Does anything or anyone else share such closeness? Who does not have reservations when laying our heads on a hotel pillow…. Questioning its checkered past? It does not belong to us after all.

As with most of the most important things we take for granted… our pillow is never given the attention it deserves. There are so many aspects to consider when deciding where we lay our heads… yet few of us research the importance of our relationship with our pillow OR spend the time finding the one that suits our needs.
Let me help with this - your pillow is only as important as your sleep. And sleep is the single most important thing we do in the 8 hours of our 24-hour cycle. That is 2920 hours out of our year! That is a lot of time spent dreaming (and drooling) with one thing.
Meeting Your Needs in the Bedroom
Do you know that we can live longer without food than we can without sleep? It is the foundation of our wellbeing and it is time we realize we cannot just sleep with any old pillow that we find in our bed.
It is time we get a little discriminating.
It is essential to have a checklist than ensures that this soft place we land on and dream on (and other night time things) meets all our needs in the bedroom:
1. Proper Neck Support.
If you have a neck support pillow that is too high or too low for you, you will not be in proper spinal alignment. Few people are aware of that fact that when your neck muscles lack neck support they also lack the ability to relax which can prolong your ability to surrender to sleep.
